Cathy achieved a B.Ed (Hons) degree in Science and Computer Education at Middlesex University. She has taught in mainstream schools the suburbs and inner boroughs of London since 1993. She has been a Deputy Head, Acting Head and Headteacher across two London Diocesan Board schools.
